Access Key Policy
- This Policy has been established in a manner outlined in Section 2.11 of the Outing Club Bylaws on 5 July 1994, and presented to the Executive Board on 2 August 1994. This Policy may be amended by the Equipment Chair, and will become binding upon presentation to, and approval by, the Executive Board.
- Keys to club offices, cages, and other areas owned, rented, or otherwise controlled by the Club will be distributed by the Operations office in order to provide convenient acces to Club members. Good balance between accessibility and security needs to be achieved.
- List of all keys shall be kept by the Equipment Chair. The Equipment Chair will compare this list to lists kept by the Union Operations Office, and shall be responsible for rectifying any inconsistencies.
- President, Vice President and Equipment Chair shall have a right to be issued keys for all areas.
- Activity Group Chairs shall have rights to keys to any area that they frequently need to have an access to. Other Executive Board members that need access to locked areas within the scope of fulfilling their jobs, shall also have a right to the appropriate keys. Any general members that need any keys, or Executive Board members that need keys to areas outside of their jurisdiction, shall need an approval of the Equipment Chair.
- Returning of all keys to the Union Operations Office is an integral part of leaving a position for all Executive Board members. Keys may not be passed down to another officer, even if that person will assume the holder's same position.
