Meet Our Trip Leaders

Anyone can be a trip leader!

As a member of Hoofers, all you need to start a trip is you, and two other Hoofers. Trips can be as easy as an afternoon bike ride, or as complicated as a month-long canoe trip in Canada.

If you are interested in leading trips, check out our Leadership Resources!

If you would like to contact anyone, send them a message through our member search, or kindly ask outingpresident@gmail.com to get you in touch.

These awesome people are some of the club’s most frequent leaders:

I love backpacking. With Hoofers, I lead everything from weekend trips on the Ice Age Trail in Wisconsin to week long trips to the desert of Utah. On my own time, I’m a ultralight gearhead with long-distance goals of the PCT, PNT, and CDT after I graduate. Outside of Hoofers, I’m studying environmental science and history.

I’m currently in Kalispell, MT for the summer, serving with the Montana Conservation Corps. I spend most of my.time building trail, clearing trail, and running away from large carnivores (three black bears, one mountain lion, and counting). Since I’m not reliably in service all the time, make sure you CC my vice president Ryan Stowe (vicepresident@hooferouting.org) in any emails you send my way!

I do Sea Kayaking as an alternative to hiking and backpacking when weather permits. I love it because since there's no trail to follow, it feels like I'm the first one there! My favorite place to paddle in Wisconsin is the Apostle Islands. When the water is too cold, backpacking in far places is fun. When the water is frozen, I enjoy to telemark and downhill ski too. I've been fortunate to Sea Kayak and Backpack in Alaska as well through NOLS. WFR certified.

Right now, I'm serving at the Vice President of the Hoofer Outing Club. I believe in what Hoofers does - bridging gaps to get into the outdoors may that be hard skills, soft skills, equipment access, experience, money, social capital or knowledge.

My first degree was Sports Coaching and Development and then I expanded that remit into a Community Education degree. I've worked with so many groups in the outdoor environment that I can barely list them; however, I've focused on youth development and leadership primarily. Im interested in developing leaders in the Hoofers Outing Club. My main focus in America and the US has been working with the International Duke of Edinburgh Award.
